Where are you now? Town, State, Country *
Ulverstone
Occupation/s? Tell us what you have been doing
Generally been working in child care since 1995. Have done some bar and gaming work at Ulv RSC a few years back but now returned to working at Discovery Early Learning Centre at East Ulverstone.
What would you tell your 1977 self if you could send them a message now?
not to sweat the small stuff - enjoy being young and free.
What would you like to share about the last 40 years?
I married my childhood sweetheart - Jim Brinkman in 1980 at the very young age of nearly 19. We built our home in Ulverstone and had two beautiful children, Chris in 1985 and Melissa in 1987. I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mum until I chose to work at the Ulverstone child care centre (which everyone at the time referred to it as humpty dumpty). I am very fortunate to have a good life surrounded by good friends and family. As our children grew and went their own way so too did Jim and I, so in 2008 after 32 years of being together ( Jim & I began dating in '76 when I was in grade 9 some of you may remember me being picked up some days after school in Jim's white HR panel van much to the dislike of the teachers on duty, I was often summoned to the office the next day to explain why I was being picked up in "that van" haha such a rebel I loved it) Jim and I divorced. I am still very close to Jim's family and we all keep in touch which is really nice. I have been fortunate enough to go to Bali twice and have just recently returned from Vanuatu which is where my daughter was married in June '16. I am an extremely proud grandmother of a gorgeous grand daughter who was born to Chris and his beautiful wife Steph in 2014.
What are you proudest of about your life? What have been your greatest achievements?
My children are my greatest achievement, and to still be here to enjoy the rest of my life.
Any regrets?
There is always some regrets in life but overall I feel very satisfied with my life.
